The Time Grand Plaza Hotel is a modern 4-star property on Damascus Road in Al Qusais. It offers quick and easy access to Dubai International Airport and is popular with flight crews and others on short stopovers.
232 rooms and suites are available. All are bright, clean and modern. Standard rooms offer a choice of King Size or Twin Premium beds, a work desk, internet access, flat screen TV and in-room safe. Suites feature a separate living area and a private balcony.
Brio is the hotel’s main restaurant and is situated immediately to the right of the lobby. It serves a contemporary buffet for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There’s plenty of choice and variety and there’s a live cooking station for diners wanting a dish prepared to taste. Guests should note that no alcohol is served at the hotel.
The Courtyard Café is behind reception and is a pleasant, spacious area that serves tea, coffee, sandwiches and pastries. It makes a great location for informal business meetings.
The hotel also boasts a fairly large rooftop swimming pool. There are plenty of sun loungers, both around the pool and in a shaded pergola at one end. Drinks and refreshments are available from the Splash Pool Lounge. The hotel’s gym is close to the pool entrance and offers modern fitness equipment, plus a sauna and steam room. When we stayed at the hotel, both the gym and pool were extremely quiet.
Other facilities and services at the Time Grand Plaza Hotel include meeting rooms, a smoking lounge, 24-hour room service and reception, and valet parking.
The hotel is situated in Al Qusais, close to Dubai International Airport. There’s not a great deal to do in the area but the Dubai Airport Free Zone Metro Station is just a short walk from the property. The station is on the Green Line and offers a direct connection to Deira and Bur Dubai. Guests wishing to visit Dubai Marina, Downtown Dubai (Dubai Mall, Burj Khalifa etc.) and Sheikh Zayed Road can change to the Red Line at Union Metro Station.
The hotel opened in 2010 as the Layia Plaza Hotel and was managed by Layia Hospitality. In 2012 Time Hotels secured the management contract and rebranded the hotel as the Time Grand Plaza Hotel.
