Restless Planet

The Restless Planet is an educational theme park currently under construction at the City of Arabia in Dubailand. House in a 75m high dome it will tell the story of the rise and fall of the dinosaur using over 100 animatronic dinosaurs, 3 rides, and numerous exhibits and multi-media displays.

The developers have assembled an impressive team to ensure that the park is a success. This includes the Natural History Museum in London, Dr Jack Horner (dinosaur expert and adviser on the Jurassic Park movies), the BBC’s Natural History Unit, American theme park designers Jack Rouse Associates, and Tokyo-based animatronics team Kokoro.

The Restless Planet will be accessed from the Mall of Arabia and is expected to open in 2010.

I think it cheapens and degrades science. Do we have to make everything into a theme park? I wouldn't want to go somewhere that robots move and growl the same way, hour after hour. How stupid can to get. What is wrong with quiet contemplation of natural history? Oh yeah, it doesn't bring in the mindless shopping drones. Let's do a theme park of lemmings going over a cliff in high tech rides for these morons.
