This video shows the new Dubai Sports City Cricket Stadium.

The impressive stadium opened on April 22 2009 with a one day international game between Australia and Pakistan.

The purpose-built cricket stadium has a capacity of 25,000 and is circular, ensuring that every seat has an equally excellent view of the action. Also note the floodlights are positioned on the edge of the roof (built more for shade than protection from rain).

The stadium was designed by German architects Gerkan, Marg and Partner.

Other stadia at Dubai Sports City are currently under construction:

• 60,000 seat multi-purpose outdoor stadium
• 10,000 seat multi-purpose indoor stadium
• 5,000 seat field hockey stadium

This video shows Ski Dubai, an indoor ski resort at the Mall of the Emirates.

It begins in the changing area (ski clothing and equipment are included in the ticket price) and also includes footage of the skiers and snowboarders on the slopes (there are 5), a few jumps, the café, chairlifts, and tow lifts.

To the left of the slope you can see the toboggan run. The rooms overlooking the slopes are those of the Kempinksi Hotel.

Slope tickets for Ski Dubai currently cost 180 AED for adults and 150 AED for children (2 hours). Day passes are also available (300 AED adults, 240 AED children). Prices include jacket, trousers, skis/snowboard, boots, and poles.
