Video – Dubai Mall Waterfall and Waterfront Promenade

This video shows the Dubai Mall Waterfall and Waterfront Promenade.

The 24 metre high waterfall spans 4 levels of the mall and is situated at the southern end of the development, close to the Address Downtown Burj Dubai hotel.

Close by is the Waterfront Promenade, an area packed with restaurants overlooking the spectacular Dubai Fountain.

This great video shows some of the shops and attractions at the Dubai Mall. It was shot in November 2008, shortly after it opened, so many of the shops had not started trading.

The tour includes footage of the

• Souk Atrium (stores here include Omega, Vertu, Blancpain, and Vertu)
• Fashion Avenue (shops include Armani, Louis Vuitton, Fendi, Versace, Dolce & Gabbana, and Gucci)
• Dubai Ice Rink – Olympic-size ice rink
• Dubai Aquarium – including footage of shark feeding – takes place at 4 pm daily

The Dubai Mall is located at Emaar’s Downtown Burj Dubai development.

Virgin Radio DJ Brent Black takes a shark dive at the Dubai Aquarium.

The Shark Dive Experience was launched on May 9 2009. Divers are accompanied by qualified instructors from Al Boom Diving.

The Dubai Aquarium is home to more than 33,000 marine animals and is one of the largest aquariums in the world. It is situated at the Dubai Mall in Downtown Burj Dubai.


Video – track evening at the Dubai Autodrome

This point-of-view video shows what it’s like to take part in one of track evenings held at Dubai Autodrome.

The track evenings (and days) allow drivers to test the performance of their vehicles in a controlled environment (marshals, ambulances, and safety vehicles are available).

The sessions are not timed and are non-competitive. Cars/motorcycles must be roadworthy and drivers must have a current driving licence (and wear a helmet – they are available for hire).

The Dubai Autodrome is located at MotorCity in Dubailand.

On May 9 2009 the Dubai Mall was officially opened by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.

The highlight of the opening ceremony was the unveiling of the Dubai Fountain.

Video – Dubai Sports City Cricket Stadium

This video shows the new Dubai Sports City Cricket Stadium.

The impressive stadium opened on April 22 2009 with a one day international game between Australia and Pakistan.

The purpose-built cricket stadium has a capacity of 25,000 and is circular, ensuring that every seat has an equally excellent view of the action. Also note the floodlights are positioned on the edge of the roof (built more for shade than protection from rain).

The stadium was designed by German architects Gerkan, Marg and Partner.

Other stadia at Dubai Sports City are currently under construction:

• 60,000 seat multi-purpose outdoor stadium
• 10,000 seat multi-purpose indoor stadium
• 5,000 seat field hockey stadium
