Atlantis, the Palm Dubai
Atlantis, a $1.5 billion resort development, will be located at the centre of the crescent of the Palm Jumeirah. Like its sister property in the Bahamas, Dubai’s Atlantis will feature two hotel towers linked by an arch. In total, the resort will boast 1,536 rooms and suites.
The resort will also feature a water-based theme park with an artificial marine habit and over 65,000 marine creatures, snorkel trail, dolphin encounter programme, water slides, and The Dig, an Atlantis-themed 'archaeological' experience.
Atlantis is expected to open in November 2008. It is a joint development between Kerzner International and Dubai Government owned, Istithmar.
