Shangri-La Hotel
The Shangri-La Hotel is housed in a 43-storey tower on the Sheikh Zayed Road. When it opened in 2003 it was one of the tallest buildings in Dubai.
It offers 301 stylish rooms and suites. Standard room features include complimentary high speed internet access, a TV with satellite channels, mini-bar, tea/coffee making facilities, a work desk, direct dial telephone, and safe.
Serviced apartments are also available for long-stay travellers.
Restaurants and bars include Amwaj (seafood), Dunes Café (international), Hoi An (Vietnamese), Marrakech (Moroccan), the Shang Palace (Chinese), and the Balcony Bar (wine/cocktail bar).
Leisure facilities include a spa and a health club with gym, outdoor pool, sauna and steam rooms.
The Dubai International Financial Centre and Downtown Burj Dubai (includes the Dubai Mall) are just across the road.
