Air-conditioned water-buses to service the Creek

January 31st, 2007

Passengers crossing Dubai Creek by boat will soon be able to enjoy a more relaxing ride. From July the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) will run air-conditioned water-buses to complement the existing fleet of abras.

Ten buses will operate seven days a week from 6 am to midnight, calling at Al Sabkha, Deira old market, Dubai old market and Bur Dubai. The round trip will take approximately 30 minutes.

Plans are currently being drawn up to extend the service to connect the city centre with various Nakheel projects including the Palm Jumeirah, Palm Jebel Ali, Palm Deira and The World.
