Residential rents capped at 7%

Residents of Dubai have welcomed the news that the government has capped annual residential rent rises at 7% for 2007. They have also decreed that no increases are allowed on contracts signed in 2006 by new tenants. Landlords flouting the law can be reported to the Dubai Rent Committee, based in the Dubai Municipality building on Baniyas Road, Deira.
