Dutco Balfour Beatty wins construction contract at golf project

Dutco Balfour Beatty (DBB) has been awarded a Dhs 150 million contract to build the clubhouse and golf academy at The Tiger Woods Dubai.

The Tiger Woods Dubai is a golf course and resort project at Dubailand. Features include:

• Golf Course – A 7,800 yard, par 72, 18-hold championship golf course, Al Ruwaya, designed by Tiger Woods.
• Clubhouse – 145,000 sq ft clubhouse with restaurant, bar and lounge, and golf shop.
• Golf Academy – Staffed by PGA professionals this facility will offer high tech tuition and analysis, plus a driving range.
• Hotel – A luxury boutique hotel.
• Residences – Luxury houses and villas.

The Tiger Woods Dubai is a joint venture between Tiger Woods Design and Tatweer, a subsidiary of Dubai Holding.

Construction halted at Four Seasons hotel

Construction work on the Four Seasons hotel at Dubai Festival City has been halted according to several sources.

The Four Seasons Golf Club has reverted to its original name, the Al Badia Golf Club, and will be managed by the InterContinental Hotels Group.

InterContinental has two hotels at Dubai Festival City; the InterContinental Dubai Festival City and the Crowne Plaza Dubai Festival City.

First villas at Victory Heights handed over

Dubai Sports City celebrated the handover of the first 30 villas at the Victory Heights development with a reception at the Els Club last week.

Over 900 villas and townhouses will be built at Victory Heights. Further deliveries to buyers are scheduled in coming months, with the final handover expected in 2010.

Victory Heights is an exclusive golf residential community at Dubai Sports City, the world’s first integrated sports city.

Over 900 villas in a variety of styles (Spanish, Andalusian, European, and Mediterranean) surround the Els Club, an 18-hole championship golf course designed by professional golfer Ernie Els.
