Dubai Festival City
Dubai Festival City is a US $5 billion mixed-use waterfront development on the Dubai Creek, just 5 minutes from Dubai International Airport. Construction of the 1600-acre ‘city-within-a-city’ began in 2003 and is expected to be complete by 2012.

- Festival Waterfront Centre - Retail area with over 550 shops, 90 restaurants, a multiplex cinema. Opened March 2007. Stores include Marks & Spencer and Toys 'R' Us.

The 2008 Dubai Desert Rock Festival will be held at Dubai Festival City on March 7 and 8. Bands appearing at the two day event include Korn, Muse, Machine Head, and Velvet Revolver. 1 day and 2 day tickets priced at Dhs 250 and Dhs 350 can be purchased by calling +971 4 210 8567.
Toys 'R' Us in now open.
Around half of the shops at the Festival Waterfront Centre are now open. The rest will open by the end of summer 2007.
