Dubai Sports City
Dubai Sports City is a massive mixed-use development currently under construction at Dubailand. When complete in 2010 it will include a wide range of sport and leisure facilities plus numerous residential areas.
Stadiums
- Cricket stadium with 25,000 seats.
- 60,000-seat multi-purpose outdoor stadium suitable for football, rugby, and athletics.
- 10,000-seat indoor stadium for basketball, ice hockey and other indoor sports. This will also double as a venue for concerts and shows.
Sports Academies
The development will also be home to a number of world-class sporting academies:
- Manchester United Soccer Schools
- International Cricket Council Global Cricket Academy
- David Lloyd Tennis Academy
- Butch Harmon School of Golf
Golf Course
Dubai Sports City will also be home to an 18-hole Ernie Els golf course. This is scheduled to open in November 2007.
Residential Areas
Residential areas will include Victory Heights and Gallery Villas. The development will also feature restaurants, shops, medial centres, mosques and other community facilities.

Contracts to build the 60,000 seat outdoor stadium and the 10,000 seat indoor stadium have just been awarded to a joint venture between Arabtec and Max Bogl. The construction schedule sees the indoor stadium complete in April 2009 and the outdoor stadium complete by the end of 2009.
