The World, Dubai

The World is a collection of 300 artificial islands shaped to resemble a map of the world. The development is being constructed by Nakheel and is expected to be finished in 2008. The islands are being sold to investors on a freehold basis.

Jan 08 - Dubai-based property developers Nakheel have announced a new mega project called the Universe. The development draws inspiration from the solar system and consists of a number of manmade islands in the shape of the sun, moon, and planets.
Reflecting reality, it will surround one of Nakheel’s other iconic developments, the World, and is expected to take around 20 years to complete.
