Route 2020 is an extension of the Dubai Metro Red Line. It connects Jabal Ali Metro Station (formerly known as Nakheel Harbour and Tower) to the Expo 2020 site. It opened in 2021.
The project also brings the Dubai Metro to communities such as The Gardens, Discovery Gardens, Al Furjan, Jumeirah Golf Estates, and Dubai Investments Park.
The extension incorporates seven stations; Jabal Ali, The Gardens, Discovery Gardens, Al Furjan, Jumeirah Golf Estates, Dubai Investment Park, and Expo 2020. Jumeirah Golf Estates Station and Dubai Investment Park Station are underground, the rest are elevated stations.
The extension forms part of the main Red Line. Trains run non-stop between Centrepoint Metro Station (near Dubai International Airport) and the Expo 2020 Metro Station.
Before the completion of the extension, Red Line trains ran non-stop between Centrepoint Metro Station and UAE Exchange Metro Station. The section of the route between Jabal Ali and UAE Exchange is now a branch line. To travel to UAE Exchange Station, it is now necessary to switch trains at Jabal Ali Station.
The extension is 15 km long; 11.8 km elevated and 3.2 km underground. The underground tunnel runs from Al Furjan to the Green Community.

The line will eventually be extended to Al Maktoum International Airport.
Timings
Timings for the Dubai Metro service on Route 2020 are the same as the Red Line and Green Line.
Timings for Route 2020 are:
- Monday – Thursday – 5:00 am to 12:00 am (midnight)
- Friday – 5:00 am to 1:00 am (following day)
- Saturday – 5:00 am to 12:00 am (midnight)
- Sunday – 8:00 am to 12:00 am (midnight)
