Abu Dhabi Central Bus Station is the main bus station in the emirate of Abu Dhabi and is a hub for both local buses and buses to other emirates. The iconic green building, also known as Abu Dhabi Main Bus Terminal, is one of the most recognisable landmarks in the city.
Bus Services
Bus services to other emirates include two services to Dubai:
- E100 – Abu Dhabi Bus Station to Al Ghubaiba Bus Station
- E101 – Abu Dhabi Bus Station to Ibn Battuta Bus Station
These services are operated by the Dubai Road’s and Transport Authority (RTA).
Facilities
Abu Dhabi Cental Bus Station is a well-equipped facility that provides everything passengers need for a comfortable journey.
The ticket desk and customer care centre are staffed by friendly, helpful staff who are always on hand to assist with any enquiries. There is plenty of seating in the waiting area for passengers to relax before their journey. Electronic displays show bus schedules and departure times.
There are also cafes and toilets on-site, as well as prayer rooms. In addition, there are ATMs and a cycle parking area. A taxi rank outside the entrance makes it easy for passengers to reach their final destination.
Location
Abu Dhabi Central Bus Station is located on Sultan Bin Zayed The First Street in Abu Dhabi city centre. It is next to Al Wahda Mall and Al Nahyan Stadium.
Al Wahda Mall is one of the largest shopping malls in Abu Dhabi. It is home to over 300 stores including a hypermarket. Stores include a hypermarket. The mall also boasts a cinema and a good selection of restaurants and fast-food outlets.
Al Nahyan Stadium is the home ground of Al Wahda FC, a local professional football team.
Additional Information
Abu Dhabi Central Bus Station was opened in 1989. It was designed by architect Georgi Kolarov of Technoexportstroy, the Bulgarian state construction company. The modernist structure would not look out of place in Soviet-era Eastern Europe.
