Importance of UAE Dirham to Philippine Peso Exchange Rate
The AED to PHP exchange rate is important for many Filipino migrants living in the UAE. According to UN data, over 550,000 Filipino migrants are living in the UAE.
Many of these migrants send money from the UAE to support their families at home. They convert dirhams to Philippine pesos when making the transfer. The AED to peso exchange rate can have a significant impact on how much money these migrants can send home.
For example, if a migrant worker has 1,000 AED to transfer back home, at an exchange rate of 1 AED to 16 PHP, their family would receive 16,000 PHP. However, if the exchange rate goes up to 1 AED to 17 PHP, their family would receive 17,000 PHP, a significant difference.
Consequently, the AED to dirham exchange rate is closely checked by many Filipino migrants living in the UAE.
