Great Dubai Wheel

The Great Dubai Wheel will be one of the major attractions at Dubailand. The 185m wheel will be taller than the London Eye and will cost over AED 250 million. It will be the world’s largest observation wheel and visitors will be able to view distances up to 50 km from the comfort of one of 30 capsules.

The Great Dubai Wheel will be built and managed by the Great Wheel Corporation. The attraction is expected to welcome its first guests in 2009.

this thing is interesting knowing the fact that in the same year (2009) beijing, China's Great wheel(628 ft)will surpassboth london's eye (443 ft) and Dubai's great wheel(607 ft).ü

The view from the Burj Dubai will be more than double the altitude of the big wheel. This will be the most popular attraction.

I find it funny that the wheel is structurally the same as London Eye, except the London Eye has 32 capsules whereas this one has 30, and its bigger.

Whether Dubailand is completed or not is not that relevant - the real issue is the lack of visibility in Dubai due to smog, dust and haze. Today, for instance, the visibility is probably three or four km at most.

The 50 km view will override that Simon. There is much to see in Dubai. I'd love to visit Dubai when the Wheel is completed.

This should be amazing. I've been on the London Eye and that was cool. The only problem I can see is that for the first few years much of Dubailand will be incomplete and there won't be much to see.
